Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)
There were two rounds online. 1st was on the oracle platform only and there were like 5 sections each having its own internal sectional times and we could opt for any section in any order. 1. Logical Reasoning 2. Aptitude 3. Thinking 4. Coding 5. Technical Questions In aptitude there were 20-25 questions with a time limit of 20 min, logical 15 questions and 13-15 min, in coding, there were 15-20 questions and 20-28 min were provided, and in thinking there were like 10 min and 9-10 questions. Then around 146 people were shortlisted for 2nd round. It was purely a coding round. We had to solve 2 coding questions in 30-45 minutes. The difficulty was around 8-8.5/10.
Describe your all Technical Interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).
There were 3 rounds. We were called at 9:00 am and were put in the waiting room till our chances come. 1st was the technical interview, where they asked me to open a notepad and share the screen. Different questions were asked, some were on coding, then theoretical based, and what algorithm I was using for coding. It lasted around 50-55 min. 2nd was also a technical round wherein this time they asked me particular coding questions. The interviewer gave me a head start and obviously, I wasn’t able to code the complete question but he was satisfied with what I had done till then. Then he asked me basic questions on OOPS, OS, and some questions from the network too. This round lasted in an hour.
Describe your all HR interviews specifying the number of rounds and details of each round.
It was a mix of HR and technical. They like showed us the ppt and different areas where we will be working on and asked if we had any doubts. Then my interview started and he asked me about the internship that I had mentioned in my CV. My internship was a bit aligned with the work they do. I had my project on 5G network so he asked what is my role, what I did in Samsung, and then he asked to share my screen and gave me a pseudocode wherein I was asked questions on inheritance and function overwriting. Then he asked me some basic questions like my strength and weakness, why I choose oracle, how would I rate myself, and all.
What were the key factors of your selection?
Hard work and how you present yourself. Like they don’t know you personally so whether it’s your 1st interview or 50th you have to present yourself with the same energy and enthusiasm. You should be clear with your fundamentals and believe in yourself because at times it happens that you panic, so try not to and don’t give up. One more thing don’t expect, just give your best and go with the flow.
What are the things students should focus on, in order of priority?
Firstly prioritize, where you want to go, where you want to see yourself in next coming years. Secondly, give some time to aptitude and logical reasoning, work on your communication skills, practice more and more. As for DSA I would say don’t go in deep, but do prepare fundamentals, algorithms, especially the ones that are taught in your course, you should be well known with them. Also apart from this look for the questions that are being asked in the interviews and prepare well for the basic questions like your introduction, strength, and weaknesses.
According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?
Okay so like society is not only for certificates or it helps in the interview. It is for your overall development because you learn how to convey your thoughts well to people, you learn how to network, leadership qualities, teamwork. Many soft skills come from participating in these events and different competitions as well. Also, I wasn’t asked questions that what are your extracurricular activities, but in my HR round I made sure that they know I was in a society, so I tried to bring that thing up in my conversation so that they can connect it as well and it shows like okay you have worked in this, you have leadership skills and teamwork spirit, you can handle pressure. Even if you are not just try to back your answers with something solid like how can the interviewer believe that you are good at leadership skills.
