What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria, coding or aptitude test, number of interviews)
There was a total of 3 rounds in the recruitment process. First, was the online round which had MCQs and two coding questions. Next there were two interview rounds- technical and then HR one. Shortlisting criteria was perhaps, DSA.
What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)
It was about 6.5-7.
Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)
In this, there were 50 MCQs, consisting of questions from aptitude and core subjects, moreover along with two coding questions, which were of medium level. MCQs were from OS, DBMS, OOPs (C++ especially), DSA and coding questions were from arrays and one from DP.
Describe your all Technical Interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).
FIRST ROUND: This was a technical round. Two DSA questions, one algorithm, some DBMS, basic OOPS and two puzzles were asked. SECOND ROUND: This was an HR round. The projects done were discussed and strengths and weakness of candidates were discussed. Other questions regarding locational preferences, study preferences etc were asked. Projects included: – Smart parking system, software consisted of online website, and hardware using Arduino and some sensors.
What were the key factors of your selection?
1. Confidence and belief in what you have done played a major role in the interview. 2. Strong hold on concepts like DSA, core subjects like OS, DBMS, OOPS. 3. A nominal maintenance of CGPA above 8.5 was also the key.
What are the things students should focus on, in order of priority?
Now, the answer for order of priority Prime focus, should be on practicing DSA on various online platforms, or join a course maybe. Projects should be impressive and one of the key highlights of interview or resume CGPA, should not be compromised, and a minimum of 8-8.5 should be maintained.
According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?
I was part of CCS in 2nd year, according to me, societies are not pathbreaking though, but are significant for personal growth.
Were there any companies you got rejected from after appearing for their interview? If yes, then tell us about your rejection story and what do you think were the reasons for your rejection?
Yes, had been rejected previously. Reasons are unpredictable, but two major reasons possibly could be: – couldn’t perform well in project round and DSA wasn’t strong enough back then.
What message would you like to give to your juniors regarding the stress they go through during placement season?
Don’t be stressed, take care of your health and have ample sleep.
