Interview Questions

Ques. Introduce yourself to the readers

Hello everyone, I am Naman Khurana, a final year Computer Science undergrad at Thapar University. Recently I’ve got a placement offer from Cisco. During my past three years, I have driven deep into DSA and competitive coding. Apart from that I’ve also explored MERN Stack, and have cherished being a part of multiple college societies.

Ques. What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)

The interview posed a substantial challenge, rating it at a 7-8 on a scale of 10. The questions demanded a solid level of problem-solving skills and a thoughtful approach for effective solutions.

Ques. Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)

This was an off-campus opportunity and the entire process for Cisco Ideathon can be sumarised as follows:

  1. Online assessment with a duration of 2 hours that was held on Mercer Mettl platform. The test had multiple sections, one section having MCQs based on Aptitude + Networking. The other section had two medium level DSA problems. I remember one of the problems was based on ‘Binary Search on answer’ concept.
  2. Those who successfully solved both the questions as well as a good number of MCQs were shortlisted for the next round. We were provided with 3 problem statements to choose from, and got three days time for complete ideation and ppt creation. All those who were selected for this round were given the chance to present their ideas to the interview panel.

Next steps were interview rounds which are discussed later on in the experience.
