What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria, coding or aptitude test, number of interviews)
At first, there was a technical written test comprising mental ability, gaming questions(puzzles), and coding questions. After this technical test, I had two interview round which was mostly technical(coding+oops+computer fundamental). There was no HR round.
What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)
Moderate
Tell us about the HR interviews, if any, specifying the number of rounds and questions asked.
There was no HR round as such .In my second technical interview round only one question was asked related to my resume in which they asked me to explain about the projects I made. No behavioural questions were asked in that round.
What were the key factors of your selection?
From the very start, my educational approach revolves around a strong emphasis on data structures. I started DSA by the end of the second year and practiced 2 to 3 questions regularly instead of practicing 15 to 20 questions on a single day. Consistency is very important
According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?
They don’t play a major role for the technical companies but if you are applying for a non-tech role then it plays a major role in your co-curricular activities. I was a part of one society Pratigya but was not an active member. I leave it in my third year as I have to focus on my technical skills. So if you have a strong hand on DSA then societies and other stuff do not play much importance, especially for technical companies.
Were there any companies you got rejected from after appearing for their interview? If yes, then tell us about your rejection story and what do you think were the reasons for your rejection?
I was a part of the Microsoft Engage mentorship programme through which I got the opportunity to interview for SDE internship. I cleared the first one but couldn’t make it through the second interview. After that I interviewed for Expedia, this was my first in-person interview experience. But it was a really enriching experience for me. Although I couldn’t get the internship offer, But I learned a lot from it. I would like to advise you to not lose hope in any situation and to be optimistic because these hard times are the times that shape us for a better future and prepare us.
