Ques. Introduce yourself to the readers
I am a final-year Computer Science student who recently secured placement offers from Optum and BlackRock as a Software Developer. My placement journey was filled with challenges, learning experiences, and valuable lessons. I’m excited to share my story with you all to help you navigate your own placement season successfully.
Ques. What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)
Optum – 6.5/10, BlackRock – 8/10
Ques. What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria/ coding or aptitude test/ number of interviews)
Both companies had an online assessment followed by 2-3 rounds of technical and HR interviews.
Ques. Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)
BlackRock’s test was challenging with multiple sections, including aptitude, mathematical reasoning, and attention-to-detail questions. Navigation between sections was restricted. Optum’s test included multiple-choice questions and one or two coding problems.
