Interview Questions
Ques. Introduce yourself to the readers
Hello I am Amoldeep Singh. I am a final year undergraduate at Thapar University. I\’m from the computer science branch. I\’ve been recently placed and as well as interned at Fastenal Group, which is a US-based company, mainly. So, if I talk about my interest, over these years, I\’ve developed keen interest in web development particularly. I\’ve been really fortunate as well to have worked on a couple of technologies as well. Apart from that, I\’ve even done a remote internship during my course of three months in a startup named CosmoCloud. Lastly, if I talk about my interests and other things, I\’m really passionate about exploring different cuisines.
Ques. What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)

Ques. What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria/ coding or aptitude test/ number of interviews)
When the company listed their campus notice, the cut which they mentioned was 7 CGPA and they had a couple of other proficiency levels as well, particularly related to DSA, which they mentioned in the campus notice itself, which was 70%.Before the written test, there was a major shortlisting based on I don\’t know whether it was the CGPA category or resume based or something like that. Because overall, like 1100+ students filled the form for Fastenal and only around 90-100 were allowed to appear for the examination. After that there was 1 technical interview and 1 managerial-HR round.
Ques. Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)
It was supposed to be an offline test in the Thapar campus itself. But at the last moment, they converted the entire process into an online one.
So now talking about the test majorly, it was a 2 hour test with 60 minutes for coding. We had to do three DSA questions over there. And it was like divided into two parts 60 each . First, we had to complete with the coding section in 60 minutes and then we had to move to the aptitude plus the technical questions. Those were MCQs only. The number of questions which Fastenal asked were really large as compared to other companies which I appeared for throughout my internship experiences . So we had to manage time really well. In terms of aptitude, those regular aptitude kind of questions like the direction based, then mathematical based and something like that. And for the technical aspect, we were asked about DBMS, Operating Systems and certain DSA output based questions. There was no computer networks as such, as I remember.
