Interview Questions
Ques. Introduce yourself to the readers
I am Garvit Chaurasiya, pursuing BE CSE from Chitkara University and I am in my 4th year of engineering and am currently working as a SWE Intern at Fourkites. Fourkites is a Visibility platform and it’s a cloud supported business and basically it’s a shipment tracking company where it provide various products to track your order over all the means of transportation across the globe and there are only three companies providing that kind of services including Fourkites. I love playing Foosball and was one of the best players of the University and was also part of top coders UCA batch. I have worked a lot with Blockchain and spent enough time learning, researching and developing it and I also made three projects using that technology which differentiated my projects from others and made me stood apart.
Ques. What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)
The level of interview depend upon your preparation and knowledge about the basic concepts of data structures. Also you should be confident regarding your project and should have great clarity about the technology used in it, what problems you faced while building it, what R&D you did during that phase. So the interviewer would be interested in knowing all these things and he will extract the qualities like attitude, personality, energy etc. of yours by asking about the project.
I had been learning DSA since 2 years and working dedicatedly on my projects. I got rejected for three companies but learned from my mistakes and worked upon them and eventually till this interview came I was very well prepared and answered all the questions asked by the interviewer confidently and eventually got selected. I had worked on core areas like project [Blockchain], my Linked In profile, Resume, Freelancing and Data Structures so I was confident that I will perform well in the interview.
Ques. What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria/ coding or aptitude test/ number of interviews)
Students from UCA batch only could apply for this company and than those who applied an online coding test was conducted and those who cleared were further selected for two (2) Technical Rounds and one (1) HM or HR Round was taken, so total three (3) Rounds were conducted. In my case instead of HR round HM round was taken and the basic difference between them is that HR is more of personality based whereas HM round is more of technical.
Ques. Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)
The online test was mostly about the theory, definitions and they also had fill in the blanks, like a snippet was given and they asked us to insert the missing code, keyword etc. Most of the questions were from stack, heap, linked list, trees and arrays. There was no aptitude test and only coding test was taken which was simple and based on normal Data Structures and a student with decent coding skills would be able to solve them and clear that round.
