Interview Questions
Ques. Introduce yourself to the readers
My name is Khushi Thapar, and I am a fourth-year student pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Business Systems. I currently maintain a CGPA of 8.92. I also held the position of Finance Secretary at the LEAD Society and have recently been placed at Blueyonder.
Ques. What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)
7 out of 10
Ques. What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria/ coding or aptitude test/ number of interviews)
The recruitment process commenced with the initial step of filling a Google Form. Subsequently, candidates received a link to participate in an online assessment, which was conducted through HirePro. Following the successful completion of the assessment, the process advanced to the interview stage. This interview stage comprised three rounds, during which candidates were rigorously evaluated based on their skills, qualifications, and compatibility with the role. It\’s worth noting that out of an initial pool of around 900 students who took part in the online assessment, only 51 exceptional candidates were shortlisted to progress to the interview rounds, highlighting the selectiveness and competitiveness of the recruitment process.
The assessment comprised a 1.5-hour test conducted on Hire Pro, consisting of five distinct sections, each with varying time allocations. The initial section focused on quantitative mathematics contains general aptitude questions like work time questions, followed by a logical reasoning segment, a data interpretation component, and a section examining technical and computer science fundamentals, including OS, CN, all of which were multiple-choice questions (MCQ) formats. The final section, dedicated to coding, included two coding questions. The first was relatively straightforward, centring around general mathematical concepts, while the second presented a medium-level challenge related to trees.
For aptitude I referred to YouTube playlist CareerRide, and for CS fundamental, like Gate smasher, Love Babbar to learn, and for DSA practice is the only key.
Ques. Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)
In the technical interview process, the first round began with an in-depth discussion about my project. I was asked to provide a detailed breakdown of the project, including aspects such as the tech stack used, which encompassed HTML, CSS, frameworks, backend technologies, and the database. The interviewers delved into the project\’s intricacies, seeking a comprehensive understanding. Furthermore, my certification in AWS came into focus, and I faced questions related to AWS. This initial round lasted approximately 25-30 minutes.
Moving on to the second technical round, I encountered a diverse range of questions. The interviewers presented problems related to data structures and algorithms (DSA) and required me to write code for two tasks: one involving the deletion of a specific node from a linked list and the other focusing on rotating an array to the left. Additionally, the discussion expanded to cover database management systems (DBMS). In this round, I was also challenged with puzzles to be solved within a 30-second time frame and faced aptitude questions. This phase of the interview extended for approximately 35-40 minutes.
