Interview Questions
Ques. Introduce yourself to the readers
Hi, I’m Vinayak! I’m currently in my final year of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Thapar University, holding a CGPA of 8.63. I recently secured a placement with Maruti Suzuki, and I’m genuinely excited about this new chapter. Beyond academics, I’ve served as the General Secretary of the Fine Arts and Photography Society, and electronics has always been my passion, which is why I chose this branch. That’s a little about me!
Ques. What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)
I’d rate it around a 6 or 7. The tests had their tricky moments, and the interview had some technical depth, but overall, it was quite manageable if you’re well-prepared.
Ques. What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria/ coding or aptitude test/ number of interviews)
Maruti had a pretty structured process. First, there was a CGPA cutoff of 6.5. Then came three rounds of tests—a technical test, a personality assessment, and an unconventional aptitude test focused on planning and scheduling scenarios. After clearing those, there was one combined technical and HR interview.
Ques. Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)
The technical test was focused on electronics, with questions from core topics like circuits and digital systems. The personality test was designed to check consistency in your responses, asking similar questions in different ways. The aptitude test wasn’t your usual math or logic—it was scenario-based, with questions about scheduling tasks under constraints. Overall, it wasn’t overly difficult, but time management was key.
