What was the procedure of the placement that took place? (Shortlisting criteria, coding or aptitude test, number of interviews)

First of all, there was a form that needed to be filled. After this, approximately 22 students were shortlisted. There was no aptitude test. There were 3 rounds of interviews. The platform for interviews was google meet, and they asked me to code the question in Codebunk.

What was the difficulty level of the interview? (1- very easy, 10-very difficult)

I would rate the overall difficulty level to be 7 out of 10.

Tell us about the written/online test. (Aptitude, Coding, Test Platform, etc)

There was no aptitude test.

Describe your all Technical Interviews specifying number of rounds and details of each round (if any).

FIRST ROUND: In the first round, there was only one interviewer. She asked me about my projects. Then I have to code 2 coding questions. One question was about missing numbers in an array and the second was to find the most frequent character in a string. The interviewer was pretty impressed with the code. SECOND ROUND: The second round was with the Chief Technical Officer of the company. It was pretty intense round. He asked a lot of questions about my projects. I was then asked SQL query. Then a coding question was asked, in which there was a string, and I had to replace all the vowels with a dash. There was one more question in which there is a dictionary of words, and one word is given, and I have to check whether either that word or the words made by breaking the word were present in that dictionary. So, I have to return TRUE if all the words were present otherwise FALSE.

Tell us about the HR interviews, if any, specifying the number of rounds and questions asked.

In this round, there were general questions like where I live, the number of family members, and whether I am willing to relocate.

What were the key factors of your selection?

I was quite confident with DSA and having a thorough knowledge of my projects were the key. Also, one should explain each detail of the project while talking about the project. Moreover having a good understanding of core subjects is a must.

What are the things students should focus on, in order of priority?

First of all prepare DSA. Practice questions from trees, graphs, etc. Before the interview one must ensure to look at the array, strings, and linked list questions as these topics seem to be simple and have many tricky questions as well. Also, study OS, DBMS, and OOPS. Projects are very important.

According to you, what role do extracurricular activities as well as participation in societies play?

These play a significant role in building your personality and improving your confidence. It’s important to shape your personality as it tells how you reflect yourself in the interview and it comes with how you interact with people in your society.

Were there any companies you got rejected from after appearing for their interview? If yes, then tell us about your rejection story and what do you think were the reasons for your rejection?

Yes, there were such companies. But rejections are a part of the placement journey. With every rejection, you get to know yourself better and which things you need to work on. Learn from every failure and improve yourself.

What message would you like to give to your juniors regarding the stress they go through during placement season?

Talking to a friend help. Going out and taking a walk. I would say accept the rejection and come back stronger.
